Grenada advanced to Super 50 Final

Happy Grenada team after victory over St. Vincent

Grenada emerged victorious over host St. Vincent at Sion Hill, securing their spot in the final of the Windward Islands Super 50 Championship against St. Lucia on Sunday.

Having been sent in to bat by St. Vincent, Grenada posted a total of 259 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. Johann Jeremiah played a commendable innings of 71 off 91 balls, while Teddy Bishop continued his impressive form with a half-century, scoring 52 off 81 balls. Darron contributed 54 runs off just 45 balls. St. Vincent’s Darius Martin proved to be their most successful bowler, taking 5 wickets for 50 runs. Grenada’s Shermon Lewis and Ryan John also performed well, taking 3 wickets for 23 and 3 wickets for 37, respectively.

In the other match, St. Lucia defeated Dominica at Cumberland. Dominica batted first and managed to score 197 all out in 42 overs. Stephan Pascal top-scored with 59 off 73 balls, supported by Kavem Hodge who scored 55 off 53 balls. St. Lucia’s Larry Edward was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 37 runs.

In response, St. Lucia chased down the target with 198 for 4 in 42.5 overs. Kimani Melius played a power-packed innings, smashing 86 runs off just 58 balls, while Stephen Naitram contributed a quickfire 41 off 25 balls.

Grenada will meet St. Lucia at Sion Hill on Sunday while at Cumberland Dominica will take on St. Vincent for the third place.
