Shadrack Descarte scored 150 not out vs Grenada

Host St. Vincent began the Windward Islands Super 50 with an easy victory over Dominica. Batting first Dominica could only muster 103 all out with Gian Benjamin top scoring with 21. St. Vincent easily knocked of the runs with 107 for 3. Opening Batsman Desron Maloney’s excellent batting and Kenneth Dember’s fine bowling were the outstanding players for St. Vincent.

Meanwhile, at Cumberland, Shadrack Descarte delivered a magnificent innings with the bat, defying the odds, while Ackeem Auguste’s exceptional bowling exploits paved the way for St. Lucia’s comfortable win over defending champion Grenada. St. Lucia posted a formidable total of 334 for 9 in 50 overs, with Shadrack Descarte remaining unbeaten on 150, supported by Tarrique Edward’s contribution of 37. Nicklaus Redhead of Grenada claimed an impressive 5 for 67. In response, Grenada managed only 195 all out, with Teddy Bishop’s top score of 62. Ackeem Auguste of St. Lucia shone with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 35 runs.

Tomorrow St. Vincent takes on St. Lucia at Sion Hill while Grenada takes on Dominica at Cumberland Playing Field.
