HANOI, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- More than 22 million Vietnamese students have started the new school year as official opening ceremonies were held across the country on Tuesday, local newspaper Vietnam News reported.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Vietnam's priorities include promoting innovation in the education sector, enhancing the effectiveness of education management and promoting lifelong learning, the newspaper said.
In his message, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated educators and students nationwide on the new academic year 2023-2024, urging students to consider learning an important lifelong mission, Vietnam News Agency reported.
In southern Ho Chi Minh City alone, over 1.7 million students attended the opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year, the news agency reported.
