2,500 panda sculptures take over Hong Kong streets in unique art show
Last year Hong Kong welcomed thousands of panda sculptures in its biggest-ever bear-themed display. The city-wide exhibition started at a famous shopping area before moving to other spots
A mega-sized panda-themed art show hit Hong Kongʼs streets last winter bringing joy to locals and tourists alike. The super-sized display (which included 2‚500 bear sculptures) became the citys largest-ever panda exhibition.
The kick-off event took place at HKs international air-port on Dec 4th with a big-time opening ceremony. After that the black-and-white army of sculptures made its way to the well-known Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui district; a spot thats always packed with shop-happy visitors
The timing wasnt random - the city saw growing panda-love after two cute cubs were born at a local theme-park. The organizers planned a city-wide tour with the sculptures moving through three more spots during that month: making it a true panda-takeover of Hong Kong
