Early morning mishap hits French Alps cable car with construction crew aboard
Construction workers got into trouble when their cable car crashed at Val Thorens ski station this morning. Six people needed medical help after the incident at one of Frances highest ski spots
At Val Thorens ski resort in the French Alps a work-related cable car crash left several people hurt today. The incident happened around 7:30am when sixteen construction workers were heading up to their work-site
The accident took place at a breath-taking height of 3000+ meters (which makes it one of the highest spots in the area) where harsh weather made things extra-tough. The Cime Caron lift cabin smashed into its arrival station - this particular lift was being used just for construction tasks at that time
Six workers ended up with injuries after the crash‚ and two of them got hurt pretty bad (but doctors say everyone will recover fine). The whole thing happened at the well-known Val Thorens resort - a super-popular winter sports place thats part of Frances Three Valleys ski area. The local Savoie regions office is looking into what went wrong with the lift system that morning
