Ex-TV star and Congress member picked for key Trump administration role
Trump chooses former Wisconsin lawmaker Sean Duffy as transportation secretary nominee. The ex-reality TV personality and long-time media figure brings both congressional and television experience to the role
At a West Palm Beach gathering Donald Trump announced his pick for transportation secretary: former Wisconsin representative Sean Duffy (who brings both political and media experience to the role)
The ex-congressmanʼs career spans multiple fields — from reality-TV personality to cable-news commentator; his media presence made him a stand-out choice for the media-savvy president-elect. During his time as a pro-Trump spokesperson he became well-known for his on-air defense of Trumpʼs policies
Duffy brings significant public-service background to the position: he spent about nine years in the House of Representatives before stepping down in 2019. His congressional work included key roles such as:
- Financial Services Committee membership
- Chairman position on insurance-housing subcommittee
- Legislative policy development
Since leaving his congressional seat five years ago Duffy has co-hosted “Bottom Line“ on Fox Business network where heʼs maintained his high-profile media presence
