Gaza food trucks raid exposes major aid delivery problems in conflict zone

In a troubling mid-november incident near Gazaʼs Kerem Shalom crossing ninety-eight food trucks got raided‚ which shows big problems with aid delivery in the area. The UN-organized convoy (which included one-hundred-and-nine trucks) had to take an un-familiar route due to Israeli instructions

Louise Wateridge from UNRWA points out that some truck drivers got hurt during the raid: its becoming harder to bring food to southern and central parts of Gaza. The World Food Programme also confirms these delivery issues - many roads are now blocked because of safety problems

Hamas TV reports that their security teams worked with local tribal groups to stop the raiders. During this operation more than 20 gang members who attacked the trucks were killed; Hamas warned that theyʼll use strict measures against future looters

The food crisis keeps getting worse as the conflict enters its 14th month (since oct-2023 attacks). While Israeli officials say theyre working on fixing aid delivery issues UN representatives note that getting supplies to northern Gaza is almost impossible now. Over 2-million people need food help to stay alive in this area
