Olaf Scholz had a good-talk with Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday - their first since German leaders Putin-chat earlier this month. The discussion focused on Berlinʼs steady military back-up‚ specially air-defence systems
A govʼt rep said the talk was nice and Zelenskiy thanked Germany for its help; the leaders talked about finding ways to get a fair-peace deal. The chat happened right after Scholz had his first direct Putin-talk in bout 2 years (which happened mid-Nov)
Zelenskiy wasnt happy with Scholzʼs Putin-chat saying it opened up a “Pandoras box“ that could mess-up efforts to keep Putin away from talks. But Scholz stood firm on his choice to talk with Putin: explaining he needed to make it clear that German support for Ukraine wont get smaller
