German leadership shake-up: Defense minister might replace Scholz before next election

Olaf Scholz keeps saying he wants to stay as chancellor but his party friends think differently. Two north-west lawmakers (who are pretty important in the party) said on mon they need to think about whos best for the job: “We hear lots of good stuff about Boris Pistorius“

Recent numbers show why everyoneʼs worried — SPD dropped to just 16% support which is way down from what they got a few years back. The conservatives and far-right are doing much better in polls; meanwhile Pistorius is somehow the most-liked politician in Germany right now

At a big meeting in Brazil Scholz tried to dodge questions about his future: “Me and SPD want to win together‚“ he said kinda avoiding the main point. The whole thing got even more complex when he talked to Putin last week which made other countries pretty mad
