The demonstrators chose the highest section of seats to show their “Pay Up“ banner during the COP29 climate conference but their effort didnt reach its target audience. The main conference participants stayed inside the venueʼs closed spaces; separated from the outside world by white-colored temporary walls
Most decision-makers working on climate-related money issues remained in the conference area — a maze-like setup with no windows or view to the outside. The only ones who might have caught a glimpse were those in the COP29 presidency offices located right beneath the protest spot
