Historic winter hits Seoul: First mega-snowfall in half a century paralyzes city
Seoul got hit by its biggest November snow since early 70s with northern parts getting 20cm of white powder. Hundreds of planes stayed on ground while city traffic slowed to crawl
The South Korean capital got smashed by a record-breaking snowstorm today — its most intense November snowfall since the early 70s (when just 12cm fell down on the streets)
Northern Seoul neighbourhoods measured whopping 20cm of snow which created major problems for city-dwellers. The white-blanket coverage caused wide-spread transport issues: hundreds of airplanes couldnt take off from local airports and everyday commuters faced serious delays getting to work.
The mega-snowfall turned the usually-busy metropolis into a winter-wonderland but also brought some not-so-nice consequences; traffic moved at snail-pace and public transport schedules went completely off-track. Weather experts say this kind of snow hasnt been seen in Seoul for more than 50 years which makes todays storm truly one-of-a-kind
