Israeli forces storm Gaza hospital: hundreds affected in northern region raid
Israeli military entered Kamal Adwan Hospital in north Gaza forcing out staff and patients. The facility now operates with minimal capacity while surrounding areas face intense military activity
In a pre-dawn operation Israeli forces entered Kamal Adwan Hospital located in Beit Lahiya forcing staff patients and displaced people into its courtyard (the incident happened just days after WHO reported an un-announced airstrike on the facility)
The hospitals director Hussam Abu Safiya described a dire scene: hundreds of bodies lay in nearby streets while the facility operates with severe staff shortages after its Indonesian emergency-surgery team was made to leave. “The situation inside and around the hospital is catastrophic; we have many injured but no surgeons left“ he stated through an online chat-room
Military activities intensified across north Gaza with reports of house demolitions near the hospital. The Health Ministry says only half of Gazaʼs medical facilities still work — albeit with limited supplies and man-power. In Nuseirat a separate air-strike hit a residential building killing at-least 18 people including 3 kids
The conflict started roughly 14 months ago when militants crossed into Israel killing 1‚200 people. Since then Gazaʼs Health Ministry reports over 44‚500 deaths with many more missing under debris. Israeli forces say theyʼve eliminated several high-ranking operatives who led the initial cross-border attack but Hamas denies using hospitals as cover-up spots
Later that day COGAT (the Israeli aid-coordination body) arranged food-package deliveries to Beit Hanoun working with international groups to help remaining locals
