Judge warns ex-mayor Giuliani: Hand over luxury items or face consequences
Manhattan judge threatens former NYC mayor with civil contempt for not giving up his belongings to Georgia poll workers. The ex-mayors resistance to pay $148M defamation verdict leads to property seizure attempts
A Manhattan judge gave Rudy Giuliani a stern warning about civil contempt charges for not giving-up his fancy co-op and other stuff to two Georgia poll workers (who he has to pay $148M for spreading lies about them)
Last month the judge told Giuliani – a former NYC mayor and Donald Trumps ex-lawyer – to hand everything over within 7 days; but he didnt do it. The workers‚ Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss‚ won their case against him back in Dec 2023 when he said wrong things about their work in the 2020 vote count
The 80-year-old ex-mayors property list includes:
- A high-end Manhattan apartment
- An old-school 1980 Mercedes
- Sports stuff he collected
- Bank account money
Giulianis lawyer says his client tried to help but the other side made it hard to work with the co-op and bank: however the judge wasnt happy when they complained about wanting his grandfathers watch. “The law is the law‚“ the judge said – making it clear that family items dont get special treatment
Things got more complex when someone took most stuff out of the apartment recently; plus Giuliani made new bank accounts and a business which looks suspicious to the workers lawyers. His try at bankruptcy protection failed cause he didnt show all his money info‚ and now hes got other legal problems – like being kicked out of practicing law in NY and fighting charges in Georgia and Arizona for election stuff
