Lightning strike causes deadly military training incident in Vietnam

At a south-vietnamese military site a tragic event happened this monday-night when twelve servicemen lost their lives in an un-expected explosion. The incident took place at the well-known 7th Military Region training grounds located in Dong Nai area
Search-and-rescue teams found most of the deceased while continuing their efforts to locate remaining personnel at the blast site. The initial findings point to a weather-related cause — a lightning bolt struck some explosive materials that soldiers were moving across the training area
This is an irreparable loss for the military unit families relatives comrades and teammates
The defence-ministry officials confirmed that the soldiers were carrying detonator equipment when the lightning hit causing an immediate blast. Local emergency response teams worked through-out tuesday at the training facility which serves as one of the main military education centers in the region
