Russia launches production of high-tech mobile shelters with nuclear protection
Russian emergency ministry starts making mobile bomb shelters that shield against nuclear blasts and other threats. The KUB-M units can protect 54 people for two days and work even in extreme northern conditions
Russian emergency officials started mass-producing mobile safety units this fall‚ which offer protection from nuclear radiation and other dangerous situations
The new shelter named “KUB-M“ (a container-like structure) has two-parts: a living space for people and technical equipment section. The unit can hold up to 54 persons and keep them safe for 48-hrs from different threats — including nuclear blast waves chemicals and building parts falling down
The shelter system has some cool features: its easy to move around on trucks connects to water-lines and works fine in super-cold areas (which is important for Russias northern regions). The technical guys say you can add more sections if you need space: which makes it super-flexible for different uses
- radiation from nuclear events
- explosions and metal pieces from regular weapons
- dangerous chemicals in the air
- fires and smoke
- falling stuff from damaged buildings
This news comes right after Joe Biden let Ukraine use long-range US missiles that can hit deep into Russia‚ and Vladimir Putin changed some rules about when Russia might use nuclear weapons. But the emergency ministry didnt say these things are connected: they just called it “an important step to make citizens safer“
