Secret Gaza files leak sparks investigation into Netanyahu's inner circle
A leak of classified Gaza war documents from Israeli military systems has triggered a major probe. Court findings suggest the breach might have affected hostage negotiations and compromised security sources
In a high-stakes development last fall‚ classified Gaza-related info got leaked from military systems causing a shake-up in Israeli politics. The Rishon Le-Zion court found that secret intel was taken out without permission which couldʼve messed-up hostage talks
The case involves four people including one from Benjamin Netanyahuʼs inner-circle and three security-system workers. Court docs say the leak hurt Israelʼs position and put intel sources at risk. Netanyahu says he didnt know about it until media reports came out
The German newspaper Bild published some details bout 14 months ago (which matches when peace talks were happening). The article showed Hamasʼ supposed negotiating plans; this came right after six hostages were found dead in Gaza which made families super-mad at the government
- Hostage families joined journalists asking to remove the gag order
- Court let one suspect go but kept others locked-up
- Bild confirmed IDF approved document before publishing
The whole thing started after Hamas attacked Israel late last year – they killed many people and took lots of hostages. Since then Israelʼs response has changed Gaza completely. Their lawyer Dana Pugach says: “These families need answers; theyve been dealing with half-truths for too long“
