In a troubling turn of events this mid-week multiple members of Donald Trumpʼs incoming administration team became targets of fake emergency calls and threats: both Tuesday evening and early Wednesday
Law enforcement teams had to move quick when Elise Stefanik — picked to be UN ambassador — got a bomb-threat while driving with her family (including their 3-year old kid) from DC to up-state New York. “The response from all security teams was top-notch“ she noted in her statement
The FBI confirmed theyʼre looking into several such incidents: which include both fake crime reports and bomb-threats targeting Trumpʼs new picks. “We take each possible threat real serious“ the bureauʼs rep stated; meanwhile other appointees names werent disclosed
These security issues come after some scary moments for Trump himself in recent months:
- A failed attempt on his life in Pennsylvania during summer
- A suspect with a rifle near his golf-club in Florida about 2 months back
- Multiple other security concerns since his win in early Nov
Trumpʼs spokesperson Karoline Leavitt made clear that such attempts to scare off the new team wont work: “Following our leaders example we stay strong against any kind of pressure
