At Wuxi Vocational College of Arts and Technology a violent incident broke out this saturday when a former student attacked people with a knife (leaving 8 dead and 17 hurt)
The attack happened in Yixing area which is part of Wuxi city in Jiangsu province. Xu‚ a 21-year-old ex-student‚ went on his attack spree after facing several set-backs: failing an important test‚ not getting his graduation papers and being unhappy with his work-pay
According to preliminary investigations‚ the suspect attacked others after failing an exam and not receiving his graduation certificate
Local police caught Xu right at the crime scene; he admitted to doing it. The school staff and emergency teams worked fast to help injured people
This tragic event comes right after another deadly incident in China where just few days ago‚ a car-driver hit people at a sports place in Zhuhai city killing 35 and badly hurting 43 others. Both events show a need for better safety-checks at public spots
