Syrian refugees rush to border crossings in Turkey for homecoming chance
Large groups of Syrian refugees gathered at two main border points between Turkey and Syria hoping to return to their homeland. People started arriving since early morning carrying basic supplies and waiting patiently
At dawn masses of Syrian refugees showed-up at Turkeys southern frontier points - Cilvegozu and Oncupinar seeking passage back to their homeland. These crossing-points (which connect to Syrian gates Bab al-Hawa and Bab al-Salameh) became packed with hopeful returnees
The early-morning scene showed determined people wrapped in thick blankets fighting the cold weather; some created small fires while others just laid down on the ground nearby. Many refugees brought basic supplies and waited by the border barriers with patience despite the chilly conditions
The crowd grew larger throughout the morning as more families arrived at both check-points‚ their faces showing mix of hope and uncertainty about whats ahead. The atmosphere at these border areas became busy but orderly as people waited for their chance to cross
