Tech mogul joins secret post-election calls between Trump and world leaders
A surprising third party showed up during Trumpʼs post-election talks with foreign presidents this week. The tech billionaireʼs presence raises questions about his growing political role
This wednesday Donald Trump had a post-election chat with Volodymyr Zelensky but there was an unexpected guest on the line: tech magnate Elon Musk (who owns social-media platform X)
The Ukrainian leader posted on X about his “excellent“ discussion but didnt mention the tech-moguls presence. Musk has a multi-sided connection to Ukraine: his Starlink satellites help with war-time internet needs; however his peace-plan ideas dont match with Kyivs goals. The plan includes letting Russia keep Crimea (which they took about 10 years ago) and stopping Ukraines NATO plans
The tech-billionaire has become a key figure in Trumps circle: giving over $100-million to the campaign joining rallyʼs and even sitting-in on high-level talks. Earlier this week he was also present during Trumps discussion with Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey; there are hints he might get an official job in the new administration
When asked about Musks role in these diplomatic talks and what was discussed Trumps team hasnt given any answers yet: leaving questions about the tech-giants growing influence in post-election politics
