Donald Trump picked members of his defense team for top Justice dept roles last thursday. His main lawyer Todd Blanche got nominated as deputy attorney-general - a position that manages 110k+ workers and FBI supervision
John Sauer who helped Trump with Supreme-court immunity arguments will become solicitor-general (the person who speaks for govt in Supreme-court cases). These moves came right after Matt Gaetz got picked for attorney-general position
The ex-president chose Blanche - who defended him in a hush-money case earlier this year: his work will be done before Jan 2024 when Trump plans to return. Its important to note that Blanche was a fed prosecutor before joining Trumps team. “Todd is an excellent attorney who will fix our broken System of Justice“ Trump wrote in his statement

The nominees need Senate ok to start work; meanwhile Emil Bove will be acting deputy. All these changes show how Trump wants to change the dept that looked into his cases - he picked people who helped defend him in court (including those 34 charges about business records and classified docs issues)
