Trump prepares massive immigration system changes for January White House return

Last weeks election winner Donald Trump is getting ready for big immigration system changes‚ with several day-one executive orders planned for his Jan 20th return to office

The ex-presidents team is working on new rules that would let immigration agents arrest more people (even those without criminal records) and send National Guard units to help at the border. About 2 years ago there were 11 million people without proper papers in the US - a number thats probably bigger now

Tom Homan whos gonna be the new border czar‚ wants to focus on people who didnt follow judges orders to leave: “These folks had their day in court but stayed anyway“. The plan includes using military planes for moving people out of the country; border wall building will start again too

  • Ending current programs that let migrants enter legally
  • Making it easier to arrest people inside the US
  • Sending more troops to watch the border
  • Starting border wall work again - mainly in AZ

The changes would undo Joe Bidens rules that mostly focused on arresting criminals. Cities like NY‚ Chicago and Denver (that got lots of new arrivals) have had trouble giving everyone housing and help. While border crossings went down this year after some new rules‚ Trump wants to cut the numbers even more

All of these should be on the table

said Mark Morgan‚ former Trump immigration official

Stephen Miller‚ who made tough immigration rules last time‚ is coming back as deputy chief to work on policy stuff. The whole plan might face problems from Democrat states and groups that help immigrants though
