Ukraine Launches Major Drone Attack on Moscow as Kursk Incursion Continues

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian forces launched a substantial drone attack on various Russian regions, including the capital Moscow. Russian authorities reported intercepting 45 drones across several territories, with 11 neutralized over the Moscow area. Sergey Sobyanin, Moscow's mayor, described it as "one of the biggest attempts of all time to attack Moscow using drones."

The assault coincides with Ukraine's ongoing incursion into Russia's Kursk region, which began on August 6, 2024. Ukrainian military officials claim to have advanced up to 35 kilometers into Russian territory and captured 93 settlements. The operation aims to establish a buffer zone to prevent cross-border attacks and disrupt Russian military capabilities.

Modi's subsequent visit to Kyiv will mark the first by an Indian prime minister since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 1992.

"We have detained more than 13,000 people for immoral acts during this time. Around half of those detained were released after 24 hours."
