Ukrainian kids share heart-touching wishes to Santa-inspired helpers
Kids from Ukraineʼs war-affected regions write letters asking for both simple gifts and bigger hopes. Local volunteers named after Santaʼs reindeer try to make some of these wishes real
In Iziumʼs war-affected neighborhoods kids dont stop believing in magic‚ sending their hopes through letters to local helpers (who picked reindeer names just like Santas magical companions)
The letters show a mix of big and small dreams: some children ask for Ukraineʼs win in the conflict some pray for their family members to come back from Russian detention — but many requests are much more down-to-earth. These young residents need basic items to keep going through hard times: power-banks for electricity blackouts bikes for getting around and books to escape reality
The Reindeer Volunteer Group works hard to fulfill what they can focusing on simple yet important wishes. Theyʼve managed to bring joy by delivering requested items including:
- Portable chargers for families
- Bicycles for kids
- Reading materials
- Even small pets for companionship
While these volunteers cant make all dreams come true — especially the biggest ones about peace and family reunions — they keep working to bring some light into these childrens lives: making sure that even in tough times theres still room for small happiness
