Young life lost in Kharkiv: Russian bomb hits apartment complex near border
Recent attack on Kharkivʼs residential area resulted in tragic consequences and dozens of injuries. Russian military used heavy-duty glide-bombs while Ukraine continues its defense efforts in multiple regions
A devastating hit by a one-ton glide-bomb struck an apartment building in Kharkiv causing major destruction. Oleh Syniehubov reported that a twelve-year old died despite doctors half-hour efforts to save him; while Ihor Klymenko confirmed thirty-five people got hurt (with a fifteen-year old still missing)
The attack happened in Ukraines second-biggest city which sits just 30 km from the russian border. Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked US officials to let Ukraine hit air-bases deeper in Russia — where planes carrying these bombs take-off from. “Each delayed choice means more russian bombs hitting our people“ he stated
Russian forces launched a multi-region assault with various weapons:
- 10 missiles targeted Dniester bridge
- 43 exploding-drones across nine regions
- Only 17 drones shot down; 23 signal-jammed
Kyivʼs head admin Serhii Popko mentioned that in 10/2024 citizens heard air-alerts twice per day on average — with debris falling in north-downtown area. Meanwhile Ukraine struck back: hitting Berdyansk port and sending twenty-one drones towards different russian regions
