Kaieteur News – A businessman’s son was reportedly bludgeoned to death on Tuesday at a house at Middle Road La Penitence, after he was lured by an acquaintance to buy gold.

Dead is Amit Devindra Singh of Campbelle Avenue, Georgetown. Police have reportedly captured one of suspects involved and he has confessed that he and three others had slain Singh around 14:15 hrs.
The three implicated in the crime are still at large.
Relatives said that Singh was reportedly picked up from his home in a car some time around 13:00 hrs that afternoon but Singh never returned.
Police were called in and detectives were quickly able to track down a suspect who confessed that Singh was murdered.
Police learnt from their preliminary investigations that Singh was lured to Middle Road by four suspects to buy gold.
When Singh arrived they murdered him, wrapped his body in a sheet, locked the house and fled with Singh’s cash that he had taken with him to buy the gold.
Investigators told Kaieteur News that it looked like Singh was struck to his head repeatedly until he died.
His tragic demise has left his loved ones in a state of shock.
One of them said, “Like I don’t know wa fuh seh right now”.
Singh was described as his mother’s favourite son.
