China opens doors: Major changes coming to tourist entry rules next month

Chinaʼs foreign ministry made a big step-forward announcement about tourist entry rules (the changes will affect millions of visitors). Starting from Nov 30th this year visitors from Japan‚ Bulgaria Romania Croatia and Montenegro can enter without getting visas first

The new policy which runs till Dec 31st 2025 doesnt just add more countries - it makes stays twice as long. Instead of the old 15-day limit tourists from all 38 countries in the program can now stay for a month

This change fits into Xi Jinpingʼs government wider plan to boost the countrys economy through tourism and business travel. Earlier this year similar no-visa rules were tested with South Korean visitors and some European nations which showed good results in increasing tourist numbers

The ministryʼs spokesperson pointed out that the program now includes:

  • Japan as first Asian addition
  • Several Eastern European nations
  • Total of 38 participating countries
  • Month-long stays for everyone

The new rules make China more open for international visitors - a move that helps both tourism and trade partnerships between these nations
