Fresh wave of strikes hits Gaza as US pushes for new peace talks
Israeli military actions in Gazaʼs refugee camps led to dozens of casualties while humanitarian situation worsens. US administration attempts to restart peace negotiations after recent Lebanon border deal
In a recent military operation Israeli forces hit multiple locations across Gaza leaving at least 40 Palestinians dead. The strikes focused on Nuseirat refugee camp where tanks moved in-and-out of northern areas (causing significant damage to local infrastructure)
The situation in Beit Lahiya became more complex when an air-strike hit a residential building; killing 10 people. Ahmed Al-Kahlout head of Intensive Care at Kamal Adwan Hospital lost his life in a separate drone strike. The hospital which is one of three facilities in northern Gaza operates with minimal resources and limited staff
Palestinians who returned to check their homes in Nuseirat found a devastating scene – bodies of victims including women lay on the streets covered in blankets. The Civil Emergency Service couldnt reach many people trapped in their homes due to ongoing military presence
About 30 Palestinians detained during the conflict were released and sent to a southern Gaza hospital for check-ups. The US administration is trying to restart peace talks after implementing a Lebanon border deal; however negotiations remain difficult. The war which started more than a year ago after Hamas attack has caused widespread destruction and displaced most of Gazaʼs population
