Major peace deal: How millions of people can finally return to their homes
A new peace agreement between Israel and Hezbollah opens way for over million displaced people to return home. Despite military warnings about no-go zones many families are already on their way back
The long-awaited cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah started working in late fall of 24‚ bringing hope to war-torn regions. Despite official warnings from both sides military about restricted areas many Lebanese families (packed with their possessions) are already heading back to southern parts of the country
The conflict — which turned into full-scale warfare about 2 months ago — kept more than 1‚2 million Lebanese and tens-of-thousands of Israelis away from their homes. The situation got really intense when Hezbollah backed by Iran stepped-up its involvement; this created fears of wider middle-eastern conflict
The peace deal comes after 14-months of back-and-forth fighting that started in fall 23. While both countries military command issued stay-away notices for specific zones: people dont seem to care much about these warnings. The deal itself looks stable for now; it brings much-needed relief to countless families who lived far from their homes since conflicts start
