Royal welcome: Middle East leader brings billion-dollar hopes to London streets

In a high-profile gathering yesterday Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at Horse Guards Parade with his wife for a state visit that mixed old-world ceremony with modern-day business talk

The morning started with King Charles – whos still getting medical care – and Prince William welcoming their guests. Princess Catherine made her first big public appearance since her health problems showing up alongside the group (which made everyone happy to see her back)

The Welsh Guards put on a show while the band played; then everybody went to Buckingham Palace in fancy horse-drawn carriages. Queen Camilla didnt join the outdoor stuff cause shes dealing with a chest problem

  • Big parts of Barclays bank
  • Heathrow Airport

Keir Starmer wants to get more money flowing into Britain: Qatar already owns lots of London landmarks but he thinks theres room for more business deals. The visit included gift-giving – the emir got a nice picture and prayer rug while he gave King Charles a model boat and table

At the fancy dinner with famous people like David Beckham King Charles talked about how Qatar helps with peace talks – but some groups dont like this visit cause they say Qatar needs to fix its rules about women and LGBT folks
