Russia and China join forces against US global dominance plans
Top officials from Russia and China meet in Beijing to discuss their partnership against US influence. Both nations stress the need for closer ties as global politics becomes more complex
In a high-level meeting in Beijing on nov 12th‚ Russian and Chinese officials highlighted their growing partnership against US global influence. Sergei Shoigu Russias Security Council Secretary met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss strategic cooperation
The gathering focused on what both nations see as US attempts to limit their global role: Moscow and Beijing view Washington as a cold-war style power thats trying to control world affairs. Last spring Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping started what they called a new-era partnership (showing their countries growing closeness)
The US sees China as its main competitor and Russia as its biggest nation-state threat; this view shapes todays world politics. About 30 years after the Soviet Unions end – and following europes long control over China – both countries think US power is getting weaker
During the talks Shoigu pointed out: “The most important task is fighting against US dual containment policy and its allies actions“. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang backed this view saying: both countries must work together as world politics gets more complex. Their meeting included talks about security issues and ways to build trust between Moscow and Beijing
- US might put new trade limits on both countries
- Russia now calls China its ally more often
- Both see US as causing global problems
- They want to make world politics more stable
The more complex the international situation becomes and the more external challenges arise‚ the more the two sides need to stand firm in solidarity
