Spain opens doors: New plan to bring millions of workers in next 3 years
Spanish government introduces massive worker legalization program to help its growing economy. New reform aims to bring nearly million legal immigrants while making visa process much easier
Migration Minister Elma Saiz showed Spains new direction: about 300k people without papers will get legal status each year until 2027 (which helps fix worker shortages and aging population issues)
The left-sided government wants more workers - not like Italy and Germany that close their doors. “Our choice is simple: be open and rich or closed and poor“ - thats what Saiz said about needing tax-paying workers to keep social programs running
The new rules make things super-easy; workers can now:
- Get papers faster with less red tape
- Choose between self-work or company jobs
- Have better job safety rules
- Stay longer with work permits
Spainʼs economy is doing great - best in EU right now‚ thanks to smart Latin American workers who came to help in tech and food places. Numbers show 3.4% more money made than last time; Fitch says more working people will come in next 4 years which is good for business
Last monthʼs poll shows that people dont really get it though: 57% think theres “too many“ new people (even though only 18.5% of Spain isnt Spanish-born). The govʼt still moves forward: study visas now let people work 30 hours per week‚ and job-hunting visas last 12 months instead of 3
