Turkey slams Israel's new law against UN Palestinian aid agency

The Turkish Foreign Ministry made a strong statement after Israel made a law that stops UNRWA from working in the country (which happened just yesterday). Turkey says this new rule breaks international laws and makes it harder for Palestinians to go back home

UNRWA which helps many Palestinian people cant work in Israel anymore - this makes Western countries worry about Gazaʼs already-bad situation. The Turkish Foreign Ministry points out that this new-rule affects the two-state solution: “Its our duty to stop anyone from blocking UNRWA which was made by UN General Assembly rules“

Turkey leads the group that handles UNRWA money and says it will keep giving both money and support to help. In recent months Turkey has taken several steps against Israel including:

  • Stopping all trade deals
  • Going to World Court about genocide claims
  • Asking other countries to stop helping Israel
  • Speaking up about attacks in Gaza and Lebanon

The ministry thinks Western countries should do more to help Palestinians and stop Israelʼs military actions. Turkey which runs the UNRWA finance group wants other countries to step-up and protect Palestinian rights
