US steps in: Middle East peace talks take unexpected direction
US officials make new push to restart peace negotiations in Middle-East region. Secretary Blinken points to progress in Lebanon while suggesting shift in Gaza strategy
US peace-makers are trying to get things moving in the Middle-East where fighting still goes on between Israel and other groups. Antony Blinken shared some good news about talks with Lebanon; however the situation remains complex
In his talk with news people Blinken pointed out that Israel got what it wanted in Gaza — they broke Hamas military power and took down its leaders (this happened after that big attack last fall). Now its time to stop fighting and move forward
The US govt keeps pushing Israel every-day to let more help get into Gaza: food trucks medicine and other stuff that people need. The whole thing is moving in a new direction — from fighting to fixing whats broken. Washington thinks its the right moment to switch gears and focus on peace-making instead of more conflict
