Ahanta West Municipal Security Council calls for calm in Egyambra community

Mr John Agyare, the Head of the Ahanta West Municipal Security Council, has called for calm in the Egyambra community following recent disturbances in the community.

The plea came after a section of the community reportedly set the vehicle of the Chief of the Area, Nana Blaychie ablaze in what is suspected to be a chieftaincy disturbance.

So far, eight persons have been arrested by the Municipal Police Command to assist with investigations.

Mr Ngorosra Yankey, a community member, told the GNA that another family who had disregarded the leadership of the current chief allegedly attempted to install a new chief, which attracted the anger of the community to cause the dastardly act.

A unit committee member, Augustine Dua, said, “the community is empty now, we are pleading with the Inspector General of Police to intervene”.
