Following the recent talk about the fight against Galamsey in the country, the president of the Republic of Ghana, his excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has arranged to meet chiefs in the Ashanti Region tomorrow October 5th, 2022.
This meeting will be one of the ground breaking opportunity for the chiefs and the metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives to air their contributions in the fight against Galamsey.
It will be recalled that the paramount chief of Kumasi, Otumfour Osei Tutu posited that the chiefs have no hand in issuing license to small scale miners, so calling on chiefs to fight Galamsey is not the way to go.
The meeting has been arranged to take place at the Manhyia Palace tomorrow at exactly 10am.
“Tomorrow, Wednesday October 5, 2022 , H. E the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be meeting the National House of Chiefs and MMDCEs on the Galamsey Menace in Kumasi” the ministry of information announced.
