APC presidential candidate, Tinubu congratulates Tems on her Grammy win

Congratulatory messages are still pouring in for songstress, Temilade Openiyi better known as Terms after she broke the record to become the first Nigerian first female to win a Grammy award.

Joining the train, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Taking to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, Tinubu congratulated Tems.

He wrote: “I join other Nigerians in congratulating Temilade Openiyi aka Tems @temsbaby on winning the Grammy award in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her contribution to the hit song “Wait for U” – featuring Future and Drake”.

Tiwa Savage affirms love for Tems, celebrate her Grammy win

Kemi Filani reported earlier that award-winning singer, Tiwa Savage has put rumours of a bad beef with Tems to rest as she celebrates her Grammy award.

Proving that she isn’t in competition with the wave of the moment, Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram page to celebrate her.

Sharing a picture of Tems, the mother of one expressed her unwavering love for her, she used emojis to describe the Grammy winner as a champion. She wrote: “You already know ❤️ 4life”.

Funke Akindele sends powerful message to Tems after Grammy win

Actress and movie producer turned politician, Funke Akindele penned a powerful message to Tems following her win at the Grammys on Sunday, 5th February.

The mother of two took to her Instagram page to advise Tems to continually stay original because she is an inspiration to all.

Funke wrote: “Congratulations @temsbaby on winning the Best Melodic Rap Performance at the #2023grammyawards

You’re pride to Nigeria, Africa and women all over the world. Your originality made you stand out!

This is an inspiration to the young women out there, keep pushing against all boundaries, keep working hard, and stay original to your craft and with these, you can always get to the top!”.

Tems makes history at 2023 Grammys

Kemi Filani earlier reported that Temilade Openiyi better known as Tems had broken records as she won her first Grammy award.

The Nigerian singer, who keeps soaring higher and breaking records, had become the first Nigerian female artiste to win a Grammy.

The singer, won the prestigious award at the 65th Grammy award held last night, February 5th, 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Her feature on American rapper, Future’s song, ‘Wait for U’, which also featured Drake earned her the award.

With her newest feat, Tens has beat Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and other Nigerian female singers to win the prestigious award.

However, Nigerian-born British singer, Sade Adu, has won 4 Grammy awards. But because, she doesn’t identify herself as Nigerian even when quizzed about her nationality, Tems takes the title of the first Nigerian female artiste to win the award.
