Babachir Lawal Replies El Rufai Over Claim That Only Minority Christians In The Noth Will Vote Obi

Former secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal has analyzed how the labor party is set to sweep the votes in the northern part of the country going into the general election

However, his analysis is coming after the Gov of Kaduna state, Nasir El Rufai, a few days ago played down the chances of the labor party in the north. According to Elrufai, Peter Obi will not get any votes in the north except for the minority Christians

In an interview on Channels TV on Friday, Babachir Lawal said the statement isn’t true because the Norths are solidly behind Peter obi

According to him, Peter obi is now strong in the north to the extent that he has chased the People’s Democratic Party PDP out of their stronghold like Adamawa, e.t.c

He said the labor party has upgraded its target in some other states now as they don’t longer want 25 %

In the viral video shared online, he said “ As it stands, Pete obi has chased PDP out of Taraba state, Adamawa, Plateau, Benue, Kaduna state. Part of the states that we were targeting 25, % but now we are targeting 55% in the core northern states. Before, we were doubting south East will support him but now it looks like a complete overrun because we now go there for tourism. In the south where we think we will be competing with PDP on a 50-50 but now we set our target at 90% there“
