Bernard Nana Adu Gyebi Resigns As Hearts Of Oak’s Acting General Manager After 78 Days On The Job.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, various radio outlets in Ghana broke the shocking news that the newly appointed acting General Manager at Accra Hearts of Oak had resigned.

Mr. Nana Adu Gyebi, who was appointed at the commencement of the 2022–2023 league season, has now vacated his post. He spent a total of 78 days following his appointment on October 21, 2022.

The Phobians’ groaning fans were relieved to see Mr. Gyebi involved in day-to-day operations because they had issues with two Board Members who also served as management at the club.

Prior to the official announcement of Gyebi in November 2022, some unidentified Accra Hearts of Oak supporters deflated Honourable Vincent Odotei Sowah’s car tyre at the Accra Sports Stadium following their CAF Confederation second leg game against AS Bamako.

The fans’ actions indicated to the Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, that they were not happy with his decision to appoint Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Odotei Sowah as the club’s management members, necessitating the appointment of Mr. Nana Adu Gyebi Bernard as acting General Manager.

Mr. Gyebi came on board at Hearts of Oak with lots of experience under his sleeves; he had worked at Tarkwa, serving as the Business Development Manager of a Tarkwa-based club, Medeama SC, and Special Assistant to Moses Armah Parker.

During his tenure at Medeama, the club achieved its highest-ever second-place finish in the 2021–2022 Ghana Premier League season.

He was instrumental in club branding, particularly at Ackoon Community Park, as well as the revamping of the team’s communication department and the formation of the Medi-Zealot Supporters Group, among other things.

Mr. Gyebi’s resignation from his position comes as a surprise to the fans of Hearts of Oak and football-loving fans at large, especially as the Phobians were in competition for the betPawa Premier League title.

According to the information gathered by the concerned team of editors at www.atspo.com, Mr. Gyebi resigned due to interference on the part of some Board Members at Accra Hearts of Oak.
