Buhari Reacts After APC Governors Begged Him To Allow The Old Naira Notes Co-exist With The New Notes

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has recently reacted to a plea made by Governors of the All Progressive Congress to allow the existence of both the old and new Naira notes in Nigeria as a result of the shortage of physical cash amongst citizens.

Through a tweet which was posted on his official Twitter page, President Muhammadu Buhari stated that he was aware of the down time the people of Nigeria were facing due to the lack of new Naira notes in the country as he revealed that the Government was working hard to make sure everything is sorted out on or before the deadline which is the 10th of February 2023.

He further stated that he had heard the plea of the APC Governors as he revealed that the issue was thoroughly looked into which everyone would enjoy the long lasting benefits of any decision being made.

In his words, “I am aware of the cash shortages and hardship being faced by people and businesses, on account of the naira redesign. I want to assure that we are doing everything to resolve these issues. Nigerians should expect significant improvements between now and the February 10th deadline.”
