(Psalm 107 :17-22)
17 some were sick through third sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
18 they loathed any kind of food, and they drew ear to the gates of death
19 then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and be delivered them from their distress;
20 he sent forth his word, and Heald them, a d delivered them from distractions.
21 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
22 And let them offer sacrifices of Thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!
What is the right thing to do when we fined ourselves in trouble either by errors of omission or commission according to verse 19? When you are helpless cry to God. Read. Verse 20 and identify the means through which God saves people from distress or trouble. The power in God’s word from creation till now cannot be over emphasized. The word is the power of God. He does nothing outside his words. When one choose to live contrary or in disobedience to the word, he or she exposed himself or herself to danger, pains and favourable situations ( verse 17-18) there is power to heal and deliver through God’s word. Genuine deliverance comes through revelation and absolute submission to God’s word (John 8:32) “and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free”. Whenever we experience God’s miracles, we should respond through worship to appreciate him for his goodness (verse 21-22). Now after reading this, I want you to pray this short prayer with me…”Deliver me from all forms of bondage, through your words dear Lord.
