The Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (Ndc) Mr. Michael Aidoo (aka Big Aidoo) has disclosed that education must be seen as a tool of national development hence he always prioritize education in his agenda.
Speaking to the Content Writer King Amoah in an interview Mr Aidoo who also doubles as the founder of Kaaf University College in Accra said apart from using education to develop economies, it also broadens one knowledge to see his way through.
The chairman indicated that it was due to these factors hence he has decided to use education to help develop the Western North Region.
According to him poverty is one of the alleged challenges confronting the region, therefore he consider it prudent to use his little resources to support others to make life meaningful to them.
Big Aidoo told the correspondent that to realize his aims and objectives he has set up Agenda 1,000 policy that aimed at giving free scholarships to one thousand brilliant but needy students in the region to further their education up to the University level.
He said through the Agenda 1,000 policy, 320 students in the region have already got access to pursue various degree courses in Universities of which some of them have been graduated and are working in the both public and private institutions.
That was not all, on Wednesday September 21 2022 Big Aidoo further awarded scholarships package to 80 tertiary students in the Western North Region.
The beneficiaries would pursue courses such as Business Administration, Communications, Management, Human Resources, Engineering, Law, Nursing and Midwifery, Business and Finance among others.
Mr Aidoo, who is the Founder and Chancellor of KAAF University College at a short but an impressive ceremony at Bibiani said the gesture formed part of his numerous plans to support the brilliant but the needy students to pursue degree courses at Kaaf University College
He noted that though the free Senior High School policy was a good initiative, free tertiary education gives the real opportunities to the youth.
Stressing that at the tertiary stage they provides students with the needed skills and qualifications needed for the job market, which will indeed make them relevant in the nation-building, he stated
The Regional Chairman of the NDC assured that he stands resolute to ensure that the Agenda 1,000 policy is realized by God’s will to not only help to develop the Western North Region, but also help the youth to gain jobs.
On the occasion Mr Aidoo advised the students to learn hard to encourage him to do more for them and others who might request his support.
Mr Aidoo was confident that with such support, Western North Region was on the roadmap to producing adequate human capital for its development.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their pleasure over the opportunities provided to them were full of praises to Mr Aidoo for responding to their plights.
