Fanteakwa South: Osino – Heman Road Politicized?

About two months ago, the member of Parliament for fanteakwa South constituency on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum popularly known in his constituency as Hon. Arafat revealed in a phone interview with Obido on Radio 1 that delibrations are far reached to see a contractor on fanteakwa South roads within 2 months.

He was emphatic that the contractor will work on bitumen surfacing of Osino Juaso, Osino – Hemanag – Bosuso then Osino town roads because Osino the the capital of fanteakwa South District.

The District Chief Executive of the fanteakwa South District in the Eastern Region, Hon. Ernest Ofosu also in a phone interview with Obido on Radio 1 confirmed and even named a contractor, one Dwummoh, who would within the 2 months be on the road.

Hon. Ernest Ofosu further assured the citizenry during his maiden town hall meeting that soon and very soon, the supposed contractor will be on the road to begin his work.

However, days after the town hall meeting it was rumored that an individual is hijacking the the construction of Osino – Hemang Road until he/she becomes a parliamentary candidate for the Constituency.

The citizenry have waited and the 2 months given has elapsed and still there is no show of the said contractor being on the road and this has deepened the speculations that indeed there is/are saboteur (s).

But could this be true? Why would government put on hold a Constituency project just to satisfy only one person’s parochial interest? What happens if the said person does not win the parliamentary primaries? Is the individual’s aspirations prioritized over the national development?

Could this also be a (fabricated) speculation because of the failed two months promise? Could this again be that the leaders lied to the citizenry?

Even though, some residents of Akyem Dwenase are gearing up to embark on a demonstration to register their displeasure towards authorities for their several decades unmotorized roads.

But who could this superior being in the Fanteakwa South District be and is he so powerful to hijack the project?
