Last night’s result from the Black Princesses of Ghana and the Netherlands game, clearly shows that, the Ghana Football Association (GFA)has failed Ghanaians. The Black Princesses were defeated in a 4-1 score and that got them to be eliminated from the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup.
Early this year, the Black Stars of Ghana, which is the highest national team in Ghana got eliminated from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
These two national teams are dear to Ghanaians but they disappointed them. The performances from these two national teams were so poor and they can be blamed for their bad performances but the Ghanaian Football Association is the sole institution that is responsible for this disappointment.
The Black Princesses got eliminated from the group stage of the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup currently ongoing in Costa Rica. They were 4th in their group. They only managed to score only a goal in all the 3 matches. The Black Princesses conceded 9 goals and finished the group with 0 point.
Their performances at the world cup is almost the same as the Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Even though the Black Stars got a point from Gabon but they lost the other two matches. They lost to Morocco and Comoros.
Two Ghanaian national teams were knocked out in only 2022. In the 2021 AFCON, the Black Stars embarrassed Ghanaians and at the U20 Women’s World Cup, the Black Princesses have also disappointed Ghanaians. The Ghana Football Association has failed Ghanaians and they owe Ghanaians an explanation.
Ghana used to be a football nation. A nation that most Africa countries used to look up to but now we are a laughing stock.
