“It’s a Dream Come True to Join The Phobians” – New Hearts of Oak Player

Accra Hearts of Oak augmented their squad ahead of next season’s assignments with a central defender.

The Phobians are bent on making another impact in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League, the FA Cup and the Super Cup as well.

The 21 time Ghana Premier League champions have also returned to CAF’s second tier compet, the Confederation Cup after winning the FA Cup.

Hearts of Oak came from a goal down to beat Bechem United 2-1 in the finals of the MTN FA Cup at the Baba Stadium to clinch a record 12th FA Cup title.

They have made three signings already in a bid to strengthen their squad for the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup which comes up in September.

The draw for the competition comes up on Monday, August 8 and the Phobians will soon know their opponents.

Hearts of roped in the services of free agent and goalkeeper, Eric Ofori Antwi as well as Cameroonian striker, Junior Kaaba.

The latest kid on the block to be included in the squad was Zakari Yakubu, a central defender from Division One club, Swedru All Blacks.

Per the club’s statement on their Facebook page, the towering central defender says it’s a dream come true for him to join the Phobians.

“Our latest defender is from All Blacks and to him, it’s a dream come true. He signed a 4-year deal with the phobia family after passing his medicals. he is Zakari Yakubu.”
