The church of Pentecost is currently trending on all social media platforms as its tithe and offering performance letter surface.
Ghanaians have reacted to the huge amount of money the Downtown Ofankor area has so far paid for only 6 months.
Tithe and offering are mandatory monies to be paid by every Christian believer in the church as his commitment to the precepts of the Holy Bible.
What has caught the attention of many is the amount involved and the reason states in the letter for the reason behind the reduction of tithe and offering payments in the area for that specific period.
• Well, this is my church. And because of the major contribution the church is making, even if they ask members to pay I billion each I will pay. If all the churches in Ghana are emulating the social and infrastructural contribution of Pentecost to Ghana, at least, we would have made a mark.
• No wonder people are calling for religious bodies to pay taxes. I Support that call now.
• Away from the subject of the letter which I know is what will draw attention, it is ethically wrong to have a letter of this nature flying on social media.
No matter how modern we claim to be, institutional matters of this nature, especially concerning leadership, must be addressed and communicated appropriately.
