The fundamentals are weak was a phrase initiated by the new patriotic party, Bawumiah to be precise. During his manifesto, Bawumiah made it known to all Ghanaians that he would ensure that his government arrests the dollar. This backfired and had the Ndc teasing him with his own words. He went ahead to say they had the men and yet they went to the IMF.
Today, the term fundamentals are weak was used against them and this has gotten members of the Ndc in a position that helps them in their mockery and attack at government. According to Bawumiah, any government would be exposed if the fundamentals are weak.
He said this forgetting that if he refused to step up his economic game, the fundamentals he spoke about would expose him too. According to Franklin Cudjoe, the fundamentals of this economy are weak and this is not new.
He claims everyone has known about this for sometime now that the fundamentals are weak. However, it is surprising to see that they have fallen victim to their own words and big grammar which was used when they craved and wanted power badly.
