They Failed In Over Twelve Months And Still Counting: Oliver Baker To Attorney General

Oliver Baker-Vormawor in conjunction with praetorium solicitors has today served a communique to the Attorney General’s department with an immediate effect.

He said “my treason felony trial is supposed to start on October 13. It was supposed to start 1 September. 9 months and counting. I say supposed even now, because, last month, they failed to serve us hearing notices. It’s almost the 13th. We still haven’t been served any hearing notice”.

But this post isn’t about the PR government and its lack of morality or disregard for rule of law.

I want to thank the American Bar Association Center for Human Rights for taking an interest in this case and for coordinating support.

I am also grateful that they have decided to send reps to Ghana to observe the trial and to make reports to other international human rights bodies and organizations.

For context, even though I am called to the New York Bar, I am not a member of the American Bar Association.

Kindly note that this post is also not about the Ghana Bar Association, or the several “pseudo-human rights organizations” we have in Ghana.
