Buhari’s $800m World Bank Loan Approved -Ahmad

member of the House of Representatives Committee on Loans, Aids and Debt Management, Abubakar Yunusa Ahmad, said the $800 million World Bank loan request of President Muhammadu Buhari has been approved.

The lawmaker disclosed this during a Channels Television interview monitored by DAILY POST on Friday.

UniAbuja Promotes 19 Academic Staff

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja, under the chairmanship of Professor Ahmed Modibbo Mohammed, has approved the promotion of 19 academic staff to professorial rank.

The institution, in a statement to this effect, Friday, said while eight staff were promoted to the rank of professor, 11 were promoted to the rank of associate professor.

President Buhari Inaugurates State House Medical Centre

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday inaugurated the new State House Medical Centre to cater for medical needs of the presidential family.

The Permanent Secretary, State House, Mr Tijjani Umar, said the medical centre would provide services to the President and Vice-President, their families and other special guests.

Former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has expressed shock and sadness at the news of the death of Otunba Subomi Balogun, a business mogul and founder of First City Monument Bank, FCMB.

Balogun, 89, reportedly died in a London hospital, where he was taken for treatment.

Court Lifts Suspension Order On Abure, Other LP Officers

Justice Hamza Muazu of a High Court in Abuja, on Friday granted an order of stay execution on the suspension of Julius Abure , Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) and others.

Others are the National Organizing Secretary, Mr Clement Ojukwu and National Treasurer, Oluchi Opara, from parading themselves as LP national officials.
