Barca in talks with Messi over return
Barcelona are in talks with Lionel Messi about a return to the Nou Camp, according to the club’s vice president. Messi arrived at Barcelona as a teenager in 2001, joining the club’s famed La Masia youth academy, and made his first-team debut in 2003 as a 16-year-old before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. Messi’s contract with PSG expires this summer.

According to reportsin GOAL, Mikel Arteta “dreams of signing” Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati, who has impressed numerous clubs across Europe in recent seasons. The 20-year-old is considered one of the hottest young talents on the continent, but despite already making 96 appearances for Barca, he’s struggled to consistently start games under Xavi this season.
Whether they win the Premier League this season or not, the Gunners will be looking to strengthen this summer, and Fati could prove to be the perfect target.
Potter: Mount attitude ‘top’ despite difficulties
Graham Potter has praised the way Mason Mount has conduced himself during a difficult season that seen him linked with a move away from Chelsea. Mount’s contract expires at the end of next season and reports suggest he is wanted by a number of clubs, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, who are now coached by his former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.
The midfielder has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Chelsea and England sides this season and has struggled with his fitness, and Potter admitted: “It’s been tough for him because he’s had niggly injuries and noise off the pitch.
“He’s a top professional, how he’s acted with me and around us has been top. Sometimes, if things in your career aren’t optimal, you’ve got to act well and he has.”
Schlupp and Ayew sign new deals for Palace
Crystal Palace players Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew have signed new contracts with the south London club, as reported by the Athletic. After agreeing on fresh terms and joining goalkeeper Vicente Guaita in doing so, the pair will remain at the club for an extra year each. The new contracts come as Roy Hodgson aims to settle and galvanise his squad after coming out of retirement to rejoin the Eagulls and aid their search for survival.
